FACULTY
Dr. Shannon Kelley, Founder and Faculty Director; Faculty Advisor, Issues IX, X, XI, XVII, XXII
Prof. Kelley is Director of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Associate Professor of English at Fairfield University. She received her B.A. from University of Louisville and her Ph.D. from Duke University. Her fields of research include lyric poetry, queer theory, literary ecocriticism, early modern culture, science studies, and Renaissance drama.

Katelyn Richardson, Editor in Chief
Katelyn is a Junior at Fairfield University, where she double majors in English and Communications. She has a passion for creative writing across poetry, prose, fiction, and nonfiction. Katelyn is also actively involved in the university’s Studio Art Department where she assists with photography classes. Being a former assistant editor of Dogwood: A Journal of Poetry and Prose, she is excited to contribute to Issue XXII of Apollon and further develop her editing experience.
Marice Rose, Faculty Advisor, Issues XV, XVI, XVIII, XX
Marice Rose is Professor of Art History and Visual Culture at Fairfield University. She has published on the subjects of ancient hairstyling, classical reception, late Roman domestic decoration, and art history pedagogy. Her editorial work includes a book of collected essays, scholarly journals, archaeological excavation reports, and a catalogue of Cypriot antiquities in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Emily Garry, Copy Chief
Emily is a Senior at Fairfield University, majoring in English and pursuing minors in Educational Studies and Special Education to become a high school English teacher. Emily enjoys working with kids and working as a research tutor at Fairfield University’s library. She is very excited to work on this edition of Apollon and celebrate achievements in the humanities!
Silvia Marsans-Sakly, Faculty Advisor, Issues XIII, XIV and XIX
Prof. Marsans-Sakly is an Associate Professor of the Practice at Fairfield University and Faculty Advisor for Issues XIII, XIV and XIX. She received her BA from the University of Chicago and her MA in Journalism and Near Eastern Studies and Ph.D. in Middle East Studies and Modern European History both from NYU. Her fields of research include the Modern Maghrib (North Africa) and colonialism.
Autumn Bartush, Image Editor
Autumn is a Senior at Fairfield University, majoring in English and Education, with aspirations of becoming an elementary school teacher. She is passionate about volunteering in school communities, coaching field hockey, and cultivating meaningful learning experiences for young students. Alongside her academic commitments, she enjoys writing and contributing to Apollon as an editor.
Lisa Pierce Flores, Faculty Advisor, Issue XII
Journalist, essayist, and poet Lisa Pierce Flores teaches writing and journalism at Fairfield University. She earned her BA from Pennsylvania State University and her MFA from Manhattanville College. A columnist for Hearst Connecticut Media Group and the author of The History of Puerto Rico, her work has appeared in The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, and Till the Tide: An Anthology of Mermaid Poetry.
Olivia Ambrosio, Social Media Editor
Olivia Ambrosio is a Senior Communication major with a minor in Religious Studies at Fairfield University. Originally from Brewster, New York, she is passionate about digital media, storytelling, and the ways communication shapes community. Olivia brings experience in social media strategy and content creation to her role as Social Media Editor and is excited to support Apollon’s mission by helping share student work with a wider audience. She is thrilled to be joining the Apollon team!
